Liberty Mutual unit introduces telemedicine cover
Ironshore Specialty Insurance Co., a Liberty Mutual Insurance unit, said Wednesday it is introducing Digital Health, which provides primary professional liability, general liability and technology errors and omissions through a single form with the option of including cyber and products liability including cyber and products liability coverages.
The product, which is intended for telemedicine providers as well as doctors who do video consulting, offers primary limits of $1 million per occurrence/$3 million aggregate and excess limits of up to $5 million, according to Ironshore.
It is designed for health care and consultation delivered electronically via video as well as for virtual physical therapy, counseling, staffing and home health care, according to the Boston-based insurer.
“There is a need in the market for a single form that provides a holistic solution to a wider range of coverage needs for health care providers that have some component of telemedicine,” an Ironshore spokesman said.
Depending on policyholders’ other coverage, this may not be covered under their existing medical malpractice coverage, he said.
Digital Health is available to both wholesale and retail brokers.
